Picnics on Paradise

Say you have a few hours to kill before your next holiday itinerary on Boracay Island. You already know how good it feels to swim in the island’s clear blue sea, how delicious the seafood at D’Talipapa is, and how heavenly it is to surrender to relaxation on the fine white sand.

So, how about taking a spur-of-the-moment picnic trip to the quieter beaches of the island?

Get on a paraw from White Beach or a tricycle from the main road to take you to the less charted beaches of Puka or Ilig-Iligan. There you could lay out your picnic basket and have an exclusive holiday moment with your friends and loved ones. All you will need is a quick pack of scrumptious food to accompany you on your impromptu trip.

Sandwiches are the easiest to make, to carry and to eat during a picnic. However, if you’re thinking of cutting down on your holiday budget by making your own, then it will better to order the ones at Super Submarine Sandwich in D*Mall. They are not only reasonably priced but they are also deliciously filling. Enter the yellow shop with the Happy Diver and check out the fresh breads and fillings that are in store. Choose among Italian, Honey Oat, Plain or Pan de Sal breads and add any filling, such as Pepperoni Lyoner, Tuna Salad, Chicken Salad, Veggie, Bacon, Ham, Salami or Roast Beef to the basic fresh ingredients including Gouda cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, bell peppers, olives, and jalapeño peppers. Prices range from PhP80 to PhP195. Pair your sandwiches with their creamy milkshakes.

As you may already know, cakes and coffee are not the only items available at Café Del Sol, D*Mall. They also sell fluffy croissants, which can be paired with add-ons like baked beans, cheddar, feta, mozzarella, gruyere and emmenthal cheeses, and tomato. If you’re willing to wait, you might as well order a grilled Panini sandwich, filled with the likes of roasted veggies, assorted cheeses and cold cuts, tuna and turkey. While you’re in view of their appetising glass display, have a go at their mouthwatering Cassava Cake, and maybe even some refreshing frappes.

As you can see, planning a picnic is so easy! They’re all accessible to White Beach where the fun paraws are just within reach. Just remember to carry an extra plastic bag for your disposables!
